Owner
Gene L. Gompf, C.F.S.P
Gene completed his education at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1985. After serving his apprenticeship under his father, Robert Gompf, he received his license as both a funeral director and embalmer in May 1986. In January 2013, Gene was awarded the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (C.F.S.P), by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice.
Gene is active in the community. He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a Lions Club member, serves on the Hospice of Morrow County Board of Directors, Morrow County Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Morrow County Hospital Ethics Committee to name a few. All of these activities are in addition to being the dedicated father of five children and 6 grandchildren.
LeAnne S. Gompf
LeAnne received her Funeral Director’s license in November 1990. She served her two year apprenticeship under her father-in-law, Robert Gompf and her husband, Gene. LeAnne is active in her local church, is part of the Worship team and currently serves as vice-chair for the Morrow County Chamber of Commerce board. She is the mother of 5 children and she is enjoying her role as Nana to 6 grandchildren.
Gene and LeAnne purchased the business in October 2016.
Licensed Funeral Director, Monuments & Advanced Funeral Planner
Geoffrey is a third-generation funeral director and the third member of his family’s legacy to serve in the profession. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from The Ohio State University before beginning a two-year funeral director apprenticeship in 2016 under the mentorship of his father, Gene L. Gompf. While completing his apprenticeship, Geoffrey attended Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, earning his degree in Mortuary Science in 2018.
Geoffrey is actively engaged in advancing funeral service both locally and statewide. He currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, reflecting his commitment to leadership and the future of the profession.
Within his community, Geoffrey is a member of the Mount Gilead Lion’s Club and the Crestline Lion’s Club and serves on the Crestline Youth Sports board. He is also a member of VFW Post #2920 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859. In addition to his work in funeral service, Geoffrey collaborates with his brother, Greg, at Gompf Monuments.
The youngest of five Gompf children, Geoffrey married his wife, Whitney, in 2017. Together they are raising their son, Grier, and daughter, Peri, and share their home with two Labrador retrievers, Wrangler and Willie. In the fall, when not serving families, Geoffrey can often be found cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer
Morgan is the daughter of Tammy (Crager) Eicher, lifelong resident of Galion, and Tim Eicher, graduate of Crestline. She was raised in Galion along with her two sisters. She graduated from Galion High School in 2015 and she received her Associate Degree of Science in 2019 from North Central State College. In 2020, Morgan graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, earning The Ohio Embalmers Association Wakeham-Inman Award. She is a first-generation mortician. Morgan joined Mark. A Schneider-Gompf Funeral Services in 2020 and served her apprenticeship under Gene Gompf. Morgan became a licensed funeral director in 2021 and is eager to serve the Galion and Crestline communities.
Morgan cherishes time spent with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She is a proud and loving owner of her two rambunctious four-legged fur babies, Kaya and Maverick. In her spare time, Morgan enjoys being outdoors, nature walking, camping, crafting and reading.
Office Administrator
Barbara is the office Administrator in Crestline. She comes to us after working thirty years as a Legislative Manager for AT&T in Cleveland, Chicago and Columbus.
Barbara is an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she and her husband John, are extraordinary communion distributors, gift bearers, and past members of the Parish Council, Finance Committee and School Committee. They both serve as volunteers for the Crawford County Meals on Wheels program. Barbara enjoys dancing, reading, baking, crocheting, word puzzles, and watching college football, especially the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Office Administrator & Funeral Director Apprentice
Maddison grew up in Morrow County and graduated from Northmor High School in 2022. She went on to study at The Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in May 2025.
She is currently serving her apprenticeship to become a licensed funeral director under Geoffrey Gompf. She is committed to supporting families and strives to ensure they feel acknowledged, understood, and compassionately cared for during life’s most difficult moments.
In her free time, Maddison enjoys attending concerts, reading, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Advanced Planning Specialist
With 16 years of experience in the insurance industry,
Denise Clements Johnson is known for her dedication, reliability, and deep
commitment to serving her clients. A proud graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High
School and lifelong resident of Morrow County, Denise draws strength from her
roots and the values instilled by her parents, Mark and MaryAnn Clements, and
grandparents Earl and Winnie Clements.
Denise shares her life with her husband Shawn and their
daughter Aubri, a spirited softball player who keeps the family cheering from
the sidelines. Their home is also filled with the joyful chaos of four beloved
pets: Pete, a chocolate lab with a gentle soul; Louis, a playful French
bulldog; and two cats, Oreo and Zoro, who rule the roost with feline flair.
Whether she’s helping clients navigate insurance options or
spending weekends at the ballfield, Denise brings heart, integrity, and a
strong sense of community to everything she does.
Funeral Assistant
Ed was a 1976 graduate of Crestline High School. After
graduation he would go on to be a peace officer, starting for Crestline Police
Department, and later working for and retiring with the Morrow County Sheriffs
Office.
Ed is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline.
He and his wife Robin have four adult children and six grandchildren. Robin and
Ed reside in Crestline with their huskies. Ed enjoys camping, woodworking,
bowling, and NASCAR.
Funeral Assistant
Denise is a retired history teacher. She taught at St. Joseph Catholic School in Crestline and retired from Lexington Junior High School. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School and is a graduate of Crestline High School, Class of 1975. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University.
Denise is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline where she serves as an extraordinary communion distributor and is the moderator for the School Advisory Council. She also volunteers for the Crawford County Meals on Wheels. Denise is an avid animal lover and lives with her cat, Oliver and her shih tzu mix, Sophie. In her spare time Denise enjoys golf, reading, yard work and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral Assistant
Moe graduated from Crestline High School and Ohio University. He worked 20 years in production inventory control at Ohio Brass, Mansfield, and was the former owner of the Kork and Kap in Crestline. He is a member of the VFW #2920, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859, Crestline. Moe is married to his wife, Diane, has one son, and seven grandchildren. He enjoys golf, playing cards, all sporting events, and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
