Virginia Marie Horton, 94, formerly of Galion, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in Port Charlotte, FL.
Virginia was born in Passaic, NJ on December 3, 1929, to Gordon and Lucy (Rose) McCown. She married Harry Kochheiser on April 23, 1949.
Virginia was a graduate of Iberia High School and would work 33 years at ITT of Galion, before her retirement. Virginia's love and care extended beyond her occupation, as she was a nurturer at heart. She cherished her family dearly and leaves behind a beautiful legacy.
Throughout her life, Virginia remained steadfast in her faith and was known as a devoted servant of God. She found solace and joy in tending to her garden, where she nurtured beautiful blooms that reflected her own inner beauty.
Virginia is survived by her children: Denice (Sam) Morley, and Timothy (David) Ulkins; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Gordon (Mary) McCown, and Diane (Ron) Knight; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and 1st husband, Virginia was preceded in by her 2nd husband Frank Horton; Son: Michael Kochheiser; Siblings Robert McCown, Paul McCown, Maxine Swim, Byrdie Mae McCown, Lambert McCown, Betty Zachman, and John McCown.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
